God often shows His faithfulness in quiet and gentle ways. It’s the unexpected call that supplies an opportunity for provision when finances are tight, the extra smile and hug when encouragement is needed, the place one wouldn’t expect where ministry opens up and we have a chance to pour into someone else’s life. Yes, His ways are extraordinary in their quietness.
There are great chapters in life where everything seems cataclysmic. Days are pressured, obstacles pop up almost everywhere, many a thing seems to go wrong and our pillows are tear-stained. Yet there is a beginning and ending to days like these. Those chapters do have a conclusion and the next one may well be markedly different. As we are schooled through difficult passages God is good to give us that season of peace when we need it most. What we learn in times of darkness make the new light of day rich beyond description. It’s as if we have never seen the unique beauty of the dawn before, everything seems new. Our perspective is not only renewed, it is enhanced. God was at work then, God is at work now.
“And we know that God causes all everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.” Romans 8:28
